How big are Askø and Lilleø? Askø (2.8 km²) and Lilleø (0.8 km²) are located in Smålandsfarvandet, north of Lolland. The two islands are connected by a 750-metre-long dam, which creates a fun experience where you walk 'right in the middle of Småland's waters.' Lilleø, with its length of one kilometer, is perfect for a tour, where the silence and the rich bird life create a magical atmosphere. The island is known for its orchards of apples, pears and plums, which have attracted the attention of well-known culinary names such as Claus Meyer. There is also a wine production with 14,000 vines. There are currently 44 permanent residents living on Askø (as of 16 November 2021).
Where do you sail to Askø from? The ferry to Askø sails from Bandholm Harbour, and the trip takes 30 minutes. You can easily book a place for both cars and people via the ferry's website.
What can you see on Askø? ASKØ/LILLEØ - The pearls of the Småland Sea. Askø museum and the small church with the Gothic altarpiece are worth a visit. In the summer, the ferry is often joined by porpoises, which play nearby, and the seals often rest in the harbour.

On arrival at Askø ferry terminal, you will be picked up and transported across the dam to the festival site on Lilleø, where you can enjoy the festive atmosphere and a selection of refreshing drinks. In the evening there is a sumptuous communal dinner between the apple trees, prepared by Claus Meyer and other star chefs.
The festival also offers fun small events and the possibility of island tours. There is a big focus on food, and some of the best food producers participate to give you a taste experience out of the ordinary on Lilleø.
