Roskilde Fjord and Isefjord open up only an hour's train ride from Copenhagen, which together create a unique fjord landscape. Many places bring you close to the fjord. It is quiet, idyllic and authentic. The fjord trail offers cyclists and hikers the opportunity to travel through the unique fjord landscape in northwestern Zealand. A trip on the trail is an encounter with geology, history, culture and nature. In many places you can get very close to the fjord, and the entire path is safe to travel on. The path is primarily paved, but you will also drive on country roads and forest paths. The fjord trail, marked as route 40, connects Hundested-Frederiksværk-Frederikssund-Roskilde-Holbæk-Kongsøre-Rørvig and stretches a total of approximately 275 kilometers. Do the route in chunks, maybe two stages on a summer weekend, and return on a late summer day to do another stage.
