Experience the Bangsbo Fort Coastal Museum, a fascinating part of the North Jutland Coastal Museum, located in Frederikshavn. The fort was originally built by the Germans during World War II and later expanded by the Danish Navy during the Cold War. Today, you can explore a number of well-preserved bunkers and gun emplacements, including the impressive 15 cm guns from the artillery ship Niels Juel. The museum offers both guided tours and interactive exhibitions that provide an insight into the history and function of the fort. From the top of the hill, 82 meters above sea level, you get a spectacular panoramic view of Frederikshavn and the sparkling Kattegat. Also visit the child-friendly bunker, where the youngest can learn about history in a fun and educational way. The fort is part of a joint ticket that gives access to all museums under the North Jutland Coastal Museum for a week.
