Trold, der Vejrer Kristenblod | Kontroversiel Skulptur ved Vejen
Description:
Troll breathing Christian blood is a sculpture created by the sculptor Niels Hansen Jacobsen. Originally exhibited at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition in 1897, the sculpture was later placed in front of the Jesus Church in Copenhagen, before being moved to the Glyptotekshaven. The troll, which became a landmark for the city of Vejen, has been the subject of controversy, especially in connection with a planned decoration of a building in 2011. The sculpture symbolizes Hansen Jacobsen's work with fantasy and mythology and has been the subject of discussion due to its importance in relation to Christian persecution.
